Abstract

Since Erwin Shrödinger originally proposed the Shrödinger equation in 1925, scientists have applied quantum mechanics to tackle chemical problems. This equation established a connection between wave function and energy, which later developed into a comprehensive theory known as quantum chemistry. In this chapter, we dive into the history of quantum chemistry, provide an overview of its current state, and discuss potential future developments.
