Abstract

This chapter presents a literature review on the topic of “circular economy in industry” through content analysis, which allows a view of qualified production both empirically and theoretically. Trends, gaps, and different discourses on the topic were observed. The results showed a great growth in scientific production in recent years and a concentration of publications in China and Europe. The circular economy in industry is addressed in the literature as waste management and production management, the latter being subdivided into business management and resources management. There was a predominance of discussion about business management with innovation of business models, processes, and practices, based on performance economics, mainly from 2018. Current studies are increasingly looking for ways to change the sales paradigm of products for dematerialization and servitization.
