Abstract
This chapter introduces the concept of intelligent nanosensors. It begins by presenting the evolution of nanotechnology, which over time has forged solutions with better capabilities for different applications. Then, nanosensors are exposed and described, which are the product of the evolution of nanotechnology as a result of the discoveries reached, such as nanomaterials and nanocommunications. The different types of nanosensors and nanocommunications are explained, and the nanomaterials that could be used for the construction of these are described. Then, the various fields of application of nanosensors are externalized, which has interference with other recent technologies, such as the Internet of Things and the Internet of Nano-Things. In the end, the recent development and application of nanosensors, which could be used for the creation of smart cities, is included.
