Abstract

This chapter is focused on the generation of white light and fabrications of warm light-emitting diodes (LEDs) from carbon nanodots (CNDs) and their composites. A brief overview of CNDs and their uses toward the fabrication of warm LEDs for white light generation has been presented. The parameters that decide the purity of white light so generated from white LEDs (WLEDs) have been discussed in the light of chromaticity coordinates (Commission Internationale d’Eclairage), correlated color temperature, and color rendering index. Possible applications and challenges in the fabrication of WLED-based CNDs have also been discussed.
