Abstract

Molecular pharmacology is basically a division of pharmacodynamics which plays a crucial role in drug discovery and therapeutics. The action of drugs in biological systems can only be understood by the study of molecular pathways. Systems biology is in an exponential development stage in recent years and has been widely utilized in the field of biomedicine to understand the molecular basis of human disease and the mechanism of drug action. Considering the theme of pharmacology, molecular pathways that are involved in drug action are described in the insight of each therapeutic area. The 20th century is the starting phase of rational drug development on the basis of pharmacological elucidation that further gives an insight to the scientists to work on a molecular level. Fundamentals of molecular pharmacology are based on network analysis and dynamic modeling. Molecular biology basically elucidates human diseases and consists of human disease networks, treatment response prediction, investigation of disease mechanisms, and disease-associated gene predictions.
