Abstract

Cloud computing provides virtual infrastructures which provide facility for data storage and computing power without direct management by users. The term e-Health is used for electronically managing health-related data by caretaker or hospitals. Various e-Health applications have been developed to effectively utilize e-Health data to monitor health status of patient using cloud. Patient’s clinical data are an important data which should be secured to avoid any data tampering by any means. Securing e-Health data is a major concern in cloud environment. From the previous studies, the communication between mobile application and cloud server are made through http which is not a secure medium for transmitting health-related data (clinical) over cloud. The main aim of this work is to provide an algorithm to secure data in e-health application in cloud environment. As a part of this study, a new architecture for e-Health application in cloud environment will be proposed which will provide application-level security as well as server-level security using certificates.
