Abstract

When deciding in 1994 to publish the UNIDROIT Principles, the Governing Council of UNIDROIT stressed the need to monitor their use twith a view to a possible reconsideration of them at some time in the future. The immediate success of the UNIDROIT Principles worldwide prompted UNIDROIT as early as 1997 to resume work twith a view to the publication of an enlarged second edition of the Principles. Convention on Assignment of Receivables in International Trade, the 1993 UNCITRAL Model Law on Credit Transfers, the 1996 UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Commerce, the 1985 UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration and the 2002 UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Conciliation were important sources of inspiration. Keywords: International Commercial Arbitration; UNCITRAL Model Law; UNIDROIT Principles
