Abstract

Since ancient times, agriculture has remained a prime economic activity for most of the people in India. It also plays an important role in the Indian Economy, which is about 18% of India’s GDP. In current situation, agriculture in India is undergoing a structural change leading to a crisis situation. The only remedy to overcome this crisis is to do all that is possible to make agriculture profitable and attract farmers to continue in farming activities. Crop yeild prediction and crop selctions are major agricultural problems. As an effort toward agriculture, this research paper would help farmers in making appropriate decisions regarding crop production with the help of the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning (ML).This paper focuses on predicting appropriate crop based on climatic sensor data and yield of the crop based on the past data by using machine learning algorithms. The proposed systems will help farmers to reduce the wastage of water, fertilizer, and improve crop growth. Also we have compared various ML algorithms on the basis of their accuracy.
