Abstract

This chapter provides resources pertaining to the economic study of developing countries. The resources cover the areas of output, regional resources, trade, foreign direct investment, labor, industry, household spending and inflation, financial markets, and exchange rates. The resources range from traditional organizations like the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), to researcher-developed datasets like the Penn World Tables, Maddison Project, and Bruegel exchange rate data. Many of the resources discussed fall into the “General Resources” section, so users should pay attention to the “Topics Covered” to determine the most appropriate resource for their research.
