Abstract
This chapter concerns the energetic materials sensitivity and safety characterization. We will focus on five main mechanical and thermal threshold tests, which have been optimized through national and international standardization processes: Impact sensitivity tests, friction sensitivity tests, shock sensitivity tests, electrostatic discharge sensitivity tests, and thermal self-initiation, and decomposition sensitivity tests.
