Abstract
Computational techniques have been widely used to study and simulate various batteries’ characteristics. Such methods are preferred among the researchers to perceive the features of any electrochemical cell when compared with time-intensive and effortful experimental approaches. A typical battery model can be either a physics-based, empirical, or data-driven model. This chapter on battery modeling will mainly cover different Li-ion battery models, given their tremendous usage in various applications. The uniqueness of different Li-ion battery models and the methodology adopted in the modeling techniques will be discussed in this chapter. Overall, this chapter will benefit both beginners and experts in understanding and choosing the best modeling technique for their application.
