Abstract
The residues of 2-thiouracil, methyl thiouracil, propyl thiouracil, tapazole, and 2-mercaptobenzimidazole are extracted from bovine thyroid and muscle tissues with ethyl acetate and cleaned up on an Amino Bond Elut (NH2) SPE cartridge, and derivatized with 4-chloro-7-nitrobenzo-2-furazan. The derivatized product is cleaned up on an Oasis HLB cartridge and analyzed by LC-MS-MS. The limit of determination of this method for 2-thiouracil, methyl thiouracil, propyl thiouracil, tapazole, and 2-mercaptobenzimidazole is 2 μg/kg.
