Abstract

Time is important in every aspect of air pollution. It is a key factor in chemical transformation kinetics, equilibrium, partitioning, transport, fate, exposure, and effects resulting from air pollution. The persistence, as indicated by half-life, and bioaccumulation rates of the pollutant determine the fate of the air pollutant after it is emitted. These and other temporal aspects of air pollution are discussed.
