Abstract
Due to the growing environmental concerns and resource depletion, the need for sustainable materials is increasing rapidly. In this crisis of environmental pollution, green and pollution-free materials are much more required. Green nanocomposites are the materials to fulfill all the prerequisites of sustainable and pollution-free material. Green polymer nanocomposites have exceptional properties that provide natural fillers and organic polymers. Moderately high strength and hardness, low price of addition, low density, and reduction of carbon emission are the main properties of this sustainable material. They are being considered the next-generation eco-friendly and pollution-free materials because of light weight, reasonable price, durability, environment-friendliness, and highly efficient properties. Different categories of natural and synthetic green polymers and green nanofillers have been synthesized to prepare sustainable materials. Green polymeric nanocomposites manifest extensive properties of the durable polymer. This chapter demonstrated the production mechanism of nanofiller-reinforced green nanocomposites and various applications such as energy, packaging, automotive, and biomedical applications. The study also discussed the innovative techniques to improve the quality of nanocomposite. Along with that, the chapter emphasized the prospect of nanocomposite and challenges for commercial implementation.
