Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) consists of three major components: perception or idea generation, secure transmission, and intelligent data analysis. These core components can be applied in different formats for the prevention and control of infectious diseases. The procedure relies on the combination of sensors, artificial intelligence (AI), information technology, and available dynamic networking devices. The IoT networks can establish long-distance communication among hospitals, patients, and medical equipment, which could ultimately improve current medical conditions. The IoT has found many applications in infectious disease management that include early prediction, accurate diagnosis, suggestions on therapeutic intervention, and sharing of research data and policy making. All the components of IoT network gets integrated into skeletal framework and can help in control and prevention of infectious diseases.
