Abstract

The chapter presents numerical solutions to the periodicity cell problems of the homogenization theory for unidirectional reinforced composites and cross-reinforced composites. The numerical solutions are compared one with another and with the hypotheses accepted in the “anisotropic layers” model and Mori-Tanaka method. Based on the results of numerical computations, we conclude that the hypothesis of the uniform stress-strain state in the fibers can be accepted if the macroscopic load is parallel to the fibers. This hypothesis cannot be accepted if the macroscopic load is not parallel to fibers. The local stress-strain state in the matrix is not uniform for all types of macroscopic loads.
