Abstract

Machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) have now become mainstream, and are increasingly being used in medical applications. Radiation oncologists, in particular, must have at least a basic understanding of ML and AI as they benefit from these applications directly and indirectly. There are a variety of structured and unstructured, free and for a fee, training opportunities and funding opportunities for trainees and practicing physicians. We hope this chapter educates and empowers any curious radiation oncologists to take the next step after reading this book to learn more about ML and AI.
