Abstract

This chapter is a basic introduction to developmental and reproductive toxicology and will briefly review male and female reproduction, pregnancy, growth of the conceptus through parturition (birth), and postnatal development, including puberty. Factors that modulate male and female fertility along with chemicals and agents that can alter normal development will be discussed and diagrams of normal male and female reproductive processes will be presented.
