Abstract
Piezoelectricity is the important ability of some materials to convert an electric stimulus into mechanical energy, and vice versa. To enhance the piezoelectric potential and strength, coating layers are often introduced. In macro- and micromaterials, the electrical properties are related to the material properties of the constituent, the concentration and shape of reinforcements, and the applied loadings. However, in piezoelectric nanocomposites, surfaces/interfaces are also an important factor in deciding the electrical nature especially in the piezoelectric nanocomposites with coating layers.
