Abstract

In this chapter, you will find a discussion of, (1) the physiology and pharmacology of lower urinary tract(LUT) function; (2) the symptoms and signs of LUT dysfunction(LUTD); (3) a description of the diagnostic techniques utilized to evaluate LUTD; (4) a description of an easy to use functional classification system for LUTD; (5) a description of the most common types of LUTD seen in various system syndromes and neurological disorders; and, (6) using a derivative of the functional classification system, a listing of all treatments for filling/storage, voiding/emptying, and combined problems.
