Abstract
Inorganic synthesis of actinides has been raising widespread attention in recent years due to their intriguing chemistry and huge basic research needs for the future advanced nuclear fuel cycle. Nevertheless, the chemistry of actinides has been relatively poorly explored compared to the well-studied chemistry of main group elements and transition metals. In this chapter, we tried to introduce some necessary basic knowledge about inorganic synthesis of actinides, with emphasis on actinide coordination compounds, actinide-based nanomaterials, and fabrication chemistry of nuclear fuels. It is expected that the content of this chapter would significantly enrich the concept of inorganic synthesis and provide useful information for specialists in this field to construct many more fascinating actinide structures.
