Abstract
The homogenous metal complexes that are commercially used for many chemical transformations have the major disadvantages of catalyst separation and reusability after completion of a reaction. To overcome these limitations, heterogenization of homogeneous metal complexes using porous inorganic support by various methods such as impregnation, anchoring, and encapsulation is an attractive route. The present review article discusses the research and developments in the area of encapsulated catalysts used for hydroformylation, hydrogenation, oxidation, and isomerization reactions for the production of bulk and fine chemicals.
