Abstract

The chapter briefly discusses sound files, and introduces image processing. Different methods of representing pixel color, using both colormaps and RGB 3-dimensional matrices, are introduced. Creating custom colormaps and reading and manipulating image files are shown. An introduction to programming Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) is also given, including the creation of a button group and embedding images in a GUI. The graphical user interface development environment is introduced. The App Designer, which creates object-based code, is also introduced. The concepts of event-driven programming and callback functions, are introduced and examples are given, both programmatically and using App Designer.
