Abstract

With the rapidly arising and elevating usage of electronic devices, electromagnetic interference shielding materials (EMI) are playing a significant role in reducing EM pollution. Metals are firstly used as a kind of EMI material with the advantages of their high-electrical conductivity; however, the low-corrosion resistance and heavyweight are the main disadvantages that restricted its application. Compared with metals, conductive polymer-matrix composites with low density, excellent corrosion resistance, superior flexibility, and easy-to-adjust electromagnetic parameters also attract great interest from EMI-shielding researchers, but the poor heat resistance hinders the application in a harsh environment. Hence, the development of excellent-performance EMI-shielding materials with low density, high-shielding effectiveness, and high-heat resistance has become a hot topic in EMI-shielding materials. Thus, we summarized recent advances in the preparation of ceramic nanocomposite foams used as high-performance EMI-shielding materials. The ceramic foams fabrication method and different kinds of ceramic foams such as Si-C-N ceramic foams, MXene foams, and oxide ceramics foams have been deeply reviewed.
