Abstract

Biotemplates (e.g., various microorganisms, cells) can be used to fabricate diverse functional micro-/nanoparticles on the basis of the energy effects on surfaces or interfaces. It has been developed to be a widely applied manufacturing method for the fabrication of functional micro-/nanoparticles. This chapter is mainly focused on interfacial biotemplated fabrication, including functional micro-/nanoparticles based on extracellular deposition on biotemplates, and also magnetic cellular robots based on cell phagocytosis. In the view of interfacial biotemplated fabrication, it can help us better understand the energy effects.
