Abstract
A woman's quality of life decreased when her gynaecological organs are dysfunctional, leading to infertility and psychological distress. As cancer rates rise and childbearing ages rise too in the developed world, the incidence of cervical cancer increases constantly. Infertility in women can sometimes be caused by current treatments that are not able to restore organ function. Due to the inadequacy of current treatments, alternative treatment options are being developed. Bioengineering techniques have shown enormous potential in treating these infertility conditions. Several strategies can be categorized as follows: transplantation of fresh or cryopreserved organs into the host and tissue engineering, which utilizes the body's ability to regenerate/repair reproductive organs with a combination of cells, growth factors, and biomaterials.
