Abstract

The dietary supplements industry has grown tremendously over the past decade, thanks in part to a regulatory structure that allows new products to come to market quickly. In turn, consumers have benefited from the wide range and availability of dietary supplements that support a healthy lifestyle. With more than 170million US adults (76%) identifying themselves as supplement users, nutritional product manufacturers continue to see significant opportunities to grow their operations. However, with this growth comes the responsibility of ensuring that dietary supplement products meet safety and quality standards that consumers and regulators expect.
