Abstract

In the previous few decades, researchers have shown that intelligent models can solve various challenges in the petroleum industry from a variety of perspectives, including accuracy, robustness, and generalization. Several researchers have investigated the application of intelligent models in gas injection techniques and CO2 injection enhanced oil recovery (EOR) procedures. The application of data mining in gas injection in different aspects of petroleum engineering calculations is discussed in this chapter. The performance of artificial intelligence (AI) methods in the oil and gas industry, primarily in EOR methods (gas injection), is described. The chapter demonstrates the benefits of using AI and machine learning for addressing the high run-time, computational time, and computational cost of numerical simulation models and experimental measurements.
