Abstract

Abstract In recent years, chemists are giving more focus to the development of atom and step economic organic reactions which could be applied efficiently for the synthesis of complex organic molecules. The use of rhodium in combination with chiral ligands for diastereo- and enantio-discrimination in C H insertion reaction through rhodium-carbenoid is now well established and has been used by different research groups as the key reaction for the synthesis of various bioactive natural products. This chapter provides an overview of rhodium-catalyzed intra and intermolecular carbenoid C H insertion reactions for the efficient construction of bioactive natural products. Application of combined C H functionalization/Cope rearrangements (CHCR) is also described. This chapter is expected to be of immense help to the researchers working in the field of organic synthesis.
