Abstract

The initial purpose of servicing faulty DVD player is to ascertain major blocks of the player that suffers from malfunction. Radio frequency and other analogue signals from the optical head are processed to produce video and audio signals for the SCART, S-video, and the output ports. The user interface receives commands from the front panel or the remote control handset, decodes them, and communicates them to the system control microprocessor. The logic probe is a logic state test instrument that indicates the logic state at a test node. The SCART connector allows direct RGB connection to a TV receiver, and composite video, known as CVBS (composite video, blanking, and sync), together with independent stereo sound channel connections. A number of power lines are provided by the switched-mode power supply. Modern DVD players provide a comprehensive software routine for self-test and adjustment.
