Abstract

This chapter covers the principles of torque and power measurement, and the basic mechanical layout of different dynamometer types. It considers in some depth the subject of torque calibration, and all common types of dynamometer, their performance envelopes, and particular features of AC and DC dynamometers with their principles of operation.
