Abstract
In this chapter, first, the three essential components of the research topic the digital media environment, minors and harmful content are explored as a necessary prelude to the analytical research. In a second phase, these components are combined, with a discussion of recent policy history, to illustrate the issue of protecting minors against harmful media content and, in particular, the regulatory challenges accompanying this issue.Keywords: digital media environment; harmful media content; protection of minors
