Abstract

The chapter reviews the origins of Endobiogeny. A brief review of the history of scientific thought from holism to reductionism and quantitative holism based on mathematical modeling is presented. If physicians and scientists can return to epistemological principles, a new, more flexible way of thinking arises called syntheticism. This approach utilizes traditional, empirical, rational, and intuitive methods by contextualizing questions to the knowledge base of the examiner and needs of the patient. A history of the theory of Endobiogeny from its inception by Dr. Christian Duraffourd, to its development by Dr. Jean-Claude Lapraz and its expansion by Dr. Kamyar M. Hedayat is discussed. Endobiogeny is a global systems approach to integrative physiology. It is a method of analysis that encompasses all healing traditions and all possible treatment options based on a rational application of the treatment to the patient’s terrain.
