Abstract

An investigation into the effects of pitch oscillation on the dynamical behavior of a simplified non-linear rotor blade lag model is presented, the objective being to evaluate under what conditions a rotor blade might exhibit chaotic behavior. Such behavior is shown to exist, and to exhibit a strong dependence on the specific parametric configuration of the system.
