Abstract

We introduce an interesting family of three-dimensional differential systems whose vector field is continuous and piecewise linear. A first analysis of its dynamics is presented, including a rigorous proof on the recurrence of orbits, and some necessary conditions for existence of homoclinic connections. Accordingly, parameter regions with Shilnikov chaos are detected.
