Abstract

The autocatalytic reaction of Gray and Scott ( A + 2 B→3 B, B→ C is studied in a reactor with two uniform phases. These may be thought of as a reactor communicating with a reservoir and two models are considered corresponding to feeding A or B, respectively, to the reservoir. Both models exhibit chaos reached by the period-doubling route, but the second also shows intermittency.
