Abstract

Formulating scientific management and control methods is an important way to solve urban traffic problems. However, when the management and control methods cannot adapt to the actual traffic conditions, it is likely to cause traffic congestion. In order to scientifically and reasonably formulate traffic management and control methods, a collaborative management and control method based on traffic flow and flow direction is proposed to alleviate traffic pressure through reasonable allocation of road rights, scientific channelization design, and optimization of signal timing. Various evaluation indexes are obtained through VISSIM simulation for comparative analysis. Taking Xuefu Avenue, Nan'an District, Chongqing as an example, compared with the existing management and control methods, the results show that the collaborative control method has better effect than the existing management and control methods in improving the traffic efficiency of intersections and reducing traffic delays and parking times.
