Abstract

AbstractIn this paper we consider the classical binary hypothesis testing problem where the iid samples are obtained through a channel. Our goal is to study the relationship between the channel capacity and the goodness of the estimation measured by the Chernoff information in order to get an upper bound on the estimation performances as well as some insight on the structure of the optimal channel.
