Abstract

AbstractThe exchange channel model developed earlier is applied to interpret the data on exchange interactions in ion pairs containing ions in excited states. The model is shown to give a satisfactory description of the available experimental data on doping pairs in perovskite‐type crystals provided the resonance excitation transfer effects are taken into account. The relationships based on the exchange channel model are used to calculate the superexchange contribution to the spectroscopic splitting parameter, 10Dq.
