Abstract

AbstractMillimeter-wave (mmWave) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology can improve the communication quality and spectral efficiency of wireless channel. Whereas, it is affected by shadow fading and frequency selective fading. The estimation of wireless channel has great randomness, therefore, the channel estimation of the mmWave MIMO system is a great challenge. In this letter, aiming at the mmWave MIMO system with switches, we propose a channel estimation algorithm based on matrix completion. The channel estimation problem is modeled as a matrix rank minimization problem by utilizing the incoherence and low rank property of mmWave MIMO channel, furthermore, rank minimization is formulated as a nuclear norm optimization problem. Finally, we adopt inexact augmented Lagrange multiplier to solve the problem. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can acquire higher estimation accuracy and excellent convergence performance.KeywordsmmWaveMassive MIMOChannel estimationLow rank matrix completion
