Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of asphyxia in perinatal period on NK cell and T-lymphocyte subsets levels in preterm infants. Methods Flow cytometers was used to detect the venous blood T-lymphocyte subsets levels of 31 preterm infants with mild asphyxia and 25 premature infants with severe asphyxia at 2 hours after birth. At the same period,30 preterm infants without asphyxia hospitalized in our department were enrolled as control group. Results Compared with the control group and the mild asphyxia group,CD3-/CD16+ CD56+,CD3+,CD4+,CD4/+ CD8+ of the severe asphyxia group significantly decreased(P < 0.05) ; CD3-/CD16+ CD56+ and CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+ of the mild asphyxia group were lower than those in the control group, there were significant differences (P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in each indexes between mild and severe asphyxia group and control group, but both of them were higher than that in the control group (P > 0.05).Conclusions Asphyxia can cause disturbance of T-lymphocyte subsets in preterm infants and the more severe of asphyxia, the more dramatic change of NK cell and T-lymphocyte subsets have been found.
