Changes of bladder wall thickness in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia before and after operation

Abstract

Objective To investigate the change of bladder wall thickness before and after operation for benign prostatic hyperplasia. Methods The clinical data of bladder wall thickness before and after operation in 40 patients who underwent transurethral resection of the prostate were measured. The thickness of the bladder wall was measured before and after operation from June 2016 to February 2017. Results The bladder wall thickness of 40 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia was (3.6±0.3)mm, 6 months after the treatment, determination of bladder wall thickness was (2.9±0.2)mm, the bladder wall thickness decreased (0.7±0.06)mm after the operation, were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Benign prostatic hyperplasia in patients with postoperative bladder wall thickness decreases to a certain extent compared with before surgery, the thickness of the bladder wall before and after surgery in the evaluation of prostate surgery has a certain value and significance, is expected to become a new clinical research value of the objective evaluation index.
