Abstract

AbstractPurpose: The purpose of this work is detecting and interpreting the signs of changes in the nature of communicative interaction in the modern world. The consistent implementation of this goal is relevant in terms of identifying the linguistic and social characteristics of the modern language community. Methodology: The investigation of the modern communicative space as an open dynamic self-organizing system is carried out using the methods of semantic and communicative analysis. The application of these methods, combined with comparative analysis, has yielded a number of significant results. Findings: There were identified the differential features of modern communication in the broad sense of the word, as a field on which various types of information receivers and its sources interact. Differential features include: the withering away of traditional forms of information transmission, the formation of a new type of age stratification in the dissemination of information, an increase in the total amount of noise, and a general growth of information flows. Conclusions: It can be argued that the result of combining various communication trends is the expansion of the number of information receivers of a new type. They are focused on the free choice of the sphere to pay their attention to, reject the discourse of power, and create conditions for the emergence of a democratic communicative environment.KeywordsDiscourseInformationCommunicationMediaDigital resourcesJEL CodeZ130
