Abstract

The dynamics of changes in the contents of endogenous phytohormones (ABA and IAA) in sprouts of a cotton line resistant to stresses were studied. A sharp increase of ABA and insignificant change of IAA were noted in the first hours of treatment by salinity and drought. These phytohormones decreased but remained above the control level under the effect of the abiotic stresses. A comparison of proteins in various parts of the sprouts (radicles and hypocotyls) of drought- and salinity-resistant line L-7010 showed that the phytohormones caused under stress both inhibition of the synthesis of several proteins and the induced synthesis of proteins de novo.
