Abstract

The fundamental frequency (F O) declination observed during the first 50 msec in vowels that follow voiced stop-consonant productions was examined in the fluent speech of 53 stutterers before and at the termination of an intensive therapy program. Results indicate that therapy has no effect on the F O declination patterns. These results are interpreted with respect to research findings regarding fluent and disfluent speech productions of stutterers.
