Abstract

The aim of the present study was to determine the effect of NaCl concentrations on secondary metabolites production from petiole callus of Jatropha curcas. In vitro callus treated with various concentrations of 100, 200, 300, 400 µM NaCl were used in the experiments. Major compounds present in control and NaCl treated cultures are 1-docosene, (E)-9-Octadecene and E-15-Heptadecenal. Several compounds were produced in NaCl treatments and at higher concentration, the content of secondary metabolites increased. Chemical constituents of Jatropha curcas callus was influenced by NaCl concentration.
