Abstract

Published information on the changes in rheological properties of polymer melts and solutions accompanying variouschemical processes — polymerisation, vulcanisation, hardening, gelation — is examined, and experimental methods for therheological investigation of chemically unstable polymer systems are discussed in detail. Changes in rheological propertiesshould be considered in relation to the chemical kinetics of the processes involved. Technical aspects of theproblem are indicated. A list of 133 references is included.
