Abstract

We have studied the ornithine decarboxylase activity in the liver of 1, 3 and 24 months old rats: such activity has a dramatic diminuation in the age range from 1 to 3 months, but the activity at 24 months is significantly higher than that at 3 months. The treatment with Dexamethasone causes a very remarkable elevation in the activity of ornithine decarboxylase, up to rates that are not significantly different for the three ages.
