Changes in Korea Recognition of the Soviet Korean society in the Late 1980s through the Lenin Gichi

Abstract

본 논문은 고려인사회의 한국인식 변화과정을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 1980년대까지 고려인사회의 한국인식은 부정적인 것이었다. 고려인사회를 대표하는 『레닌기치』는 1980년대 이전까지 한국을 경제적 후진국이자 ‘반인민적독재정체’가 자행하는 ‘독재의 폭압’에 고통 받는 인민들이 사는 곳으로 인식했다. 그러나 1970~1980년대 장기간의 경제침체 이후 변화를 추구했던 고르바초프 정권 시기 고려인사회도 변화와 개방 흐름 속에서 한국에 대한 인식이 변화하기 시작했다. 소련이 참가했던 1988년 서울올림픽은 고려인들에게 한국에 대한 인식을 변화시킨 계기가 되었다. 올림픽이 열리던 한국은 고려인사회가 지금까지 경제·정치적으로 부정적인 인식의 대상으로 인식하던 곳이 아니었고, 이는 인식변화의 계기와 함께 한국 사회에 대한 관심으로 이어졌다. 고려인사회의 한국인식 변화는 1989년 세계한민족체육대회에 참가를 통해 심화되었다. 세계한민족체육대회에 참가했던 고려인들은 신문에 변화된 한국의 경제·사회상을 소개했다. 이러한 소개를 통해 한국에 대한 고려인사회의 관심도 더욱 커졌다. 이후 한국과 소련과의 외교·경제 교류가 확대되는 과정 속에서 고려인사회의 한국인식과 관심도 꾸준히 증가해 나갔다.This paper aims to examine the Korean recognition change process of the Soviet Korean society. Until the 1980s, the recognition of Korea was negaive to the Soviet Korean societ y. U nt il t he 1 980s, “Lenin G ichi”, w hich r epresent t he S oviet Korean societ y, regarded the Korea as an economically less developed and autocrat ic state. However, the Soviet Korean societ’s recognition of Korea started to change in the period of the Gorbachev regime, which sought to change after the prolonged economic downturn in the 1970s and 1980s. The 1988 Seoul Olympics, which the Soviet Union participated, was an opportunity to change recognition of Korea. The Soivet Korean society started to get an intrests to the Korea society through the 1988 Seoul Olympics. The Change of the Soviet Korean societie’s recognition of the Korea deepened thorugh the participation to the World Korean Athletic Meeting. The Soviety Koreans, who participated the World Korean Athletic Meeting, wrote articles, which introduced Korean economical and social change. Through these introductions, the Soviet Koran societie’s interest of the Korean society has also increased. Since then, the Korean consciousness and interest of the Soviet Korean people were steadily increased in the process of expanding exchanges between Korea and the Soviet Union.
