Abstract
This paper utilizes a needs and gratifications approach to interpret patterns of interpersonal communication among children and adolescents. The main hypothesis is that individuals who are close to voting age will develop a need to obtain political information in order to hold informed political opinion upon which to base voting decisions. This hypothesis was confirmed. This need for political information led to increased information seeking among the respondents. The information seeking was apparently successful, resulting in increased attitude holding among the respondents.
